Pixelmator Pro has been updated to version 1.2, with the image editing suite now fully supporting macOS Mojave and introducing a new machine learning-based enhancement feature that can automatically tweak the color in user's photographs.
The macOS Mojave optimizations in Pixelmator Pro 1.2 Quicksilver takes advantage of the new functionality in Apple's operating system, including five batch processing options for the Automator app. Users can now automatically correct the white balance, enhance, adjust colors, apply effects, and change the file type of images, all from the easily-accessible Quick Actions.

Support for the Continuity Camera enables users to quickly add photographs to a composition, taken by a nearby iOS device and transferred to the Mac without any further user actions. A new light theme accompanies the updated dark theme, allowing the application to fit in better with Mojave's light and dark modes, with Pixelmator Pro now able to automatically switch between them to match the Mac's setting.
The new ML Enhance feature uses the Core ML framework to allow automated changes to the way an image appears, enhancing the photographs based on training analyzing 20 million professional images. The result is a 200-layer-deep neural network capable of tweaking the image to bring it in line with images from its training, which can be used as a starting point for the user's own alterations.
Auto Enhance has a total of 37 different color adjustment sliders that covers the exposure, contrast, white balance, and individual color ranges, options the user can change themselves or allow Pixelmator to manage itself.
The release also introduces support for SVG Fonts, which can allow for individual characters to be customized with multiple colors, shades, textures, and transparency.
Pixelmator Pro 1.2 is available to download now from the App Store at a 50-percent discount for $29.99. Existing Pixelmator Pro users will receive the update at no charge.
