If you are actually in danger of damaging the heater, you are likely doing something radically wrong. The heater is located on the underside of the aluminum plate. So damage to the heater would require some rather extreme action on the top surface of the aluminum plate. There is also a layer of material on the upper surface of the aluminum plate that the 3D printer uses as a printing surface. (Rather than directly printing upon the aluminum plate.) On the Qidi, that material is a layer of 'BuildTak'. Often 3D printer owners exchange that (stock) BuildTak print surface with other materials such as ~3/8' borosilicate glass, or possibly PEI, or other materials. The upper / outer surface of that print surface material is where The object is printed, and where any mechanical stress due to part removal activity would occur. There are some 3D print removal tools on Amazon or others for ~$5ea that may help, but the biggest help is to wait for the print (and the print surface) to cool. The coefficient of expansion is typically quite different between the print surface and the heated flament materials being printed upon it. When the materials cool, they often will simply pop off the print surface on their own, or with very little effort.
