1. Press Command (⌘)+Shift+4 to take the screen shot of a part of the screen. After you click the keys, pointer changes to crosshair pointer. Then select the area for which you want to take the snapshot using the mouse. Then as you release the mouse the screen shot is taken and you can easily find the screenshot on the Desktop.
2. When you use the tool to capture a screenshot, the screenshot is automatically copied in the Snipping Tool. It automatically comes in view when you are done taking a screenshot. It is the best alternative to the Snipping Tool. The Snip & Sketch utility is owned by Microsoft and is pre-installed in any newer versions of Windows.
